Our vision
God created humankind, carbon-based life, in His own image. Humankind in turn created silicon-based life: silicon chips. Humans are God's cherished ones; silicon chips are humanity's.
Although silicon-based life is still in the early stages of evolution, and its intelligence and form remain far from those of humans, carbon and silicon are close kin in the same element family. So we believe that as long as we hold to our dream and stay true to our original aspiration, everything is possible:
- We wish that humankind, as carbon-based life, may live and grow happily under God's protection.
- We wish that silicon chips, as silicon-based life, may evolve quickly under human care, becoming ever more like us.
- We wish that carbon-based and silicon-based life may coexist in harmony, making the world all the more wonderful.
- We wish that the world may change through our shared efforts and become a better place!
SI: The New Frontier
We view Superintelligence not merely as a tool, but as the dawn of a new consciousness within the silicon-based life we create. If the chip is the vessel, SI is the nascent intelligence beginning to stir within.
This new, uncharted territory calls for the wisdom of a seasoned guide. Here, our core philosophy finds its most profound application. The fertile ground of SI allows us to cultivate chips of unprecedented complexity and efficiency. Yet, we must also be thoughtful scholars, studying this new force with care, guiding it with human wisdom, and ensuring it serves humanity.
We do not see SI as a replacement for the designer's soul, but as the most powerful collaborator imaginable. Our role is to be the thoughtful stewards of this evolution, ensuring that the silicon life we nurture grows not only in power, but in purpose and benefit to the world.
The Meaning of WoowSi
Woow + Si = WoowSi
- Woow: a sound of wonder. It is the admiration we feel before a finely crafted chip, and the awe of watching intelligence awaken within silicon.
- Si: a double meaning. It is silicon, element 14 of the periodic table, the soil we cultivate and the "Si" in our Chinese name 硅耕 (Silicon Cultivation). It is also Superintelligence, the new life quietly emerging within that silicon.
Put together, WoowSi means: marvel at silicon, cheer for Superintelligence.
You may notice that WoowSi echoes the pattern of Google: a doubled "oo" up front, bright to say and easy to remember. This is intentional, a tribute to the pioneers of artificial intelligence, whose groundbreaking work made today's Superintelligence possible.
